Mount Vernon Baptist Church | Mission & Vision

Rooted in Christ.
Sent with purpose.

We believe God calls His church to make disciples, grow together in authentic faith, and share the life-changing hope of Jesus with our community and beyond.

01 / The Mission

Following Jesus.
Making disciples.

Our calling is rooted in Matthew 28:19-20.

Jesus calls His followers to go, make disciples, and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

At Mount Vernon, that commission shapes why we gather and what we do. We want people to know Jesus personally, grow in obedience to His Word, and share the gospel with others.

Our mission extends beyond Sunday morning. It's a calling to live out our faith in our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, and wherever God leads us.

02 / The Vision

A community of faith.
A city transformed.

Our vision is to be a church family marked by authentic faith in Jesus Christ, where people genuinely know one another and grow together.

We long to see the gospel change lives throughout our community as more people come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
