They have 3 grown daughters, Jordan, Tori (husband Nick), & Sera as well as a son, Jacob. Jeff worked as a WV State Trooper for 29 years and additionally worked with the FBI’s Terrorism Task Force for years and just retired.  Jeff now is the Chief of Police for Winfield, WV. Tonya works at Horseshoe Heaven on Smith Farm in Scott Depot, and also with a Non-Profit, Itty Bitty Therapy Horses with miniature horses as her MINI-stry!
Jeff serves at Mount Vernon as the NexGen Minister; he and Tonya are passionate & felt a definite calling by God to pour into this age group. “People want a genuine person, that’s the same here as they are there or anywhere…we just try to tell others about Jesus and if we have to, use words. It’s about a relationship with Christ, not just a set of rules. Tonya and I try to love on these adults, take them as they are and show them Christ. The Point is somewhere they can belong & we have a lot of fun doing it!” says Jeff. Jeff & Tonya have been successful with leading the Young Adults (ages 18-30s) going on 7 years! The Point’s group “go to” verse is Colossians 3:17 – Represent Christ! The Point has a private FB page, where they post prayer requests, keep up on all the fun events – come join us!!

What's the point?

Why gather together? We talk about how the bible relates to and answers all the questions we have in this crazy world we live in.  The College and Career Young Adult Ministry is a community of college age and working adults, committed to encouraging one another and growing together, by focusing on Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word. We gather at 7:00PM on Wednesdays for worship and Bible Study. We dive into learning how to be a light in a dark and perverse world and not only develop our relationship with Christ personally, but learn how to invite others to know who Christ is, by telling them, and sometimes we use words.
